In Morro Grande, a rural community surrounded by lethal pesticide-sprayed plantations, Vaguinho’s suicide leads Rodolpho, a local-born writer, to retrace the steps of his friend: a gifted farmer who became the leader of a rural punk movement that left its mark on the region in the 2000s. Rodolpho intertwines Vaguinho’s life with other stories he learns along the way, revealing how the farmworkers of Morro Grande live on the edge of death, yet the force of insurgency still burns within them.
